Beacons

Beacons are small wireless devices that incessantly transmit Low Energy (BLE) signals, the wireless device contains a radio, processor, and batteries, continuously transmitting an identifier, this beacon identifier signal is captured by gateways or routers making location and tracking capability easier and more accurate.  BLE devices could be deployed on assets, people, vehicles, store-fronts, real estate properties, amusement parks, events, and other public venues to broadcast contextually-relevant location notifications and advertisements.
